With apologies to Liam Neeson’s character in the film “Taken”,  I borrowed his part of the chilling phone conversation that sets the tone for the movie. (A pretty cool action thriller in the realistic style of the Bourne series, if you like that kind of thing. I do.) My idea was to put it somewhere on this site, or use it somewhere in my marketing.

My son thought I was trying too hard. He’s probably right.

I know the old writing adage, “Murder your darlings,” but I can’t seem to put this one out of its misery. The goal is to start a relationship, not scare folks away.

Should I give up, or is there hope?

“I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for tweets, I can tell you I don’t do that. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a lifesaver for people like you. If you do give me the project now, that’ll be the end of it. I will work for you. I will make you happy. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will write for you.”

Too stalkery? Just stalkery enough?
